Daniel Dae Kim Sets First Look Deal With ITV Studios

Daniel Dae Kim and his production company 3AD have signed a two-year first look deal with ITV Studios America, the studio announced Wednesday.

“ITV Studios America has been making exciting strides in scripted content, and I’m thrilled for 3AD to be partnering with Philippe, Mike and the entire team,” said Kim. “We’re already hard at work developing projects together and look forward to many successful collaborations in the days to come.”

3AD was established in 2014 by Kim to produce premier content for TV, film and digital media. Lindsay Goffman serves as head of development and Johnny Chiou is their development executive. Kim is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content, and KlevanLongarzo LLP. Most recently, Kim and 3AD brought the Korean format “Good Doctor” to ABC, with the American version of the same name quickly becoming a ratings hit for the network. Kim serves as an executive producer on the series along with David Shore.

Kim is known for his roles on the hit ABC series “Lost” and most recently for his role on “Hawaii Five-O.” However, he left “Hawaii Five-O” in June along with co-star Grace Park. As Variety reported at the time, the actors had been seeking equal pay with stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan, but failed to reach deals with CBS Television Studios, which produces the series.

Most recently, Kim signed on to play the role of Major Ben Daimio in the planned “Hellboy” reboot. He took over the role from Ed Skrein, who dropped out after the filmmakers were accused of whitewashing the Asian character.
