The Presidency has explained why the pigeons released by President Muhammadu Buhari during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony refused to fly. Naija News reports that it is customary for the president to releases some white pigeons from a cage and immediately they fly away as a sign of peace.
But the birds refused flying when they were released with most of them sticking to the cage.

A female officer of the Nigerian Army, P.P Johnson has been reportedly abducted by some yet-to-identified gunmen in Abia State, Naija News learnt. It was gathered that the assailants have also threatened to kidnap other serving military officers from the Southern part of the country.
For clarification, the gunmen reportedly said they are not members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) but just unknown gunmen.
